Magic Time Machine

PreK-K Students
Hop into a magical time machine that leads to amazing adventures! Develop your actor’s tools, using your body, voice, and imagination to ride dinosaurs, explore medieval castles, and envision what the future might hold. Through movement, pretend play, and acting games, young performers bring adventures to life while stretching their imagination and creativity.
* For students ages 4 and up. Students must be fully potty-trained to participate in camps and classes. For the safety of all students, we have a closed classroom policy. Adults are not permitted to sit in on JT classes until our invited Open Sharing on the final day of classes or camps.

JT Studio: Choreography & Composition

Grades 7-12
Make theatre that moves people.
In this active and collaborative workshop we will explore choreography and composition in a creative, playful and supportive environment. Dancers of all experience levels are encouraged to join as we explore, create, deconstruct and develop how movement tells a story and moves an audience.
Together we will explore:
- Theme and variation
- Motion and locomotion
- Emotion and story elements
- Focus and Dynamics
In small and large groups we will:
- Develop short movement phrases
- Layer them with music, levels, and intentional creative choices
- Edit and revise with instructor and peer input

Bring the movies to the dance floor! Learn bold, cinematic choreography inspired by popular movie musicals like Singin’ in the Rain, In the Heights, The Greatest Showman, and more. Build musicality, sharpen timing, and move together as an ensemble while telling big stories through movement.

Golden Age Spotlight

Grades 7-12
Pay homage to the roots of musical theatre as we explore the movement styles that shaped Broadway’s Golden Age! Learn choreography inspired by landmark musicals like Singin’ in the Rain, Guys and Dolls, and West Side Story. Focus on musicality, precision, and storytelling through dance while building technique. Connect movement choices to musical theatre history and expand your dance repertoire with classic material that continues to influence contemporary choreography.

Spin, leap, and chassé as we dance through today’s biggest hits! From the magic of Wicked to the high-energy world of K-Pop Demon Hunters, explore movement inspired by music you love. Each class blends beginner dance technique with storytelling as we bring our favorite songs to life. Whether soaring high like you’re defying gravity or dancing beyond the waves with Moana, imagination and movement lead the way in this high-energy dance adventure!

Do You Hear the People Sing?

Grades 7-12
Explore the sweeping, powerful sound of musical theatre’s most iconic scores! Designed to complement JT’s upcoming production of Les Misérables while also welcoming singers outside the cast, this workshop focuses on the classical vocal style that defines epic storytelling onstage. Work through a curated repertoire survey drawn from Les Misérables, West Side Story, The Light in the Piazza, and more, building healthy technique, expressive phrasing, and musical confidence. Through group and solo work, tackle rich harmonies and emotionally charged material, developing the skills needed to sing big, timeless scores with clarity and power.

Dive into a week 'under the sea' as we get nautical at Junior Theatre! Portray beloved characters from hit musicals like Finding Nemo, Moana, The Little Mermaid, and SpongeBob SquarePants! Sing sea shanties and perform alongside your favorite aquatic friends while making a splash onstage!
Rising kindergartners are welcome to join us for fun-filled days rotating through classes in drama, music, dance, and art. Whether your child is used to the spotlight or new to the stage, our summer camps have something for everyone!
This program is designed for rising Kindergartners who will be attending Kindergarten in the fall. For all other ages, please register for Performance Camp.
***Camps run from 9am-3pm Monday-Friday unless otherwise specified. Students will be grouped by age. Students should come to camp with a sack lunch and two extra snacks. Please send students in clothes they can move in; no flip flops. Aftercare option available for $30/day until 5 PM. For the safety of all students, we have a closed classroom policy. Adults are not permitted to sit in on JT camps until our invited Open Sharing on the final day of camp.***

Session 1 Musical Theatre Intensive 4-6: Greek Week

Calling all aspiring demigods and heroes, bring iconic characters from Greek mythology to life on stage! Battle monsters and unravel ancient prophecies while using your performance skills to embark on a creativity-filled quest! Step into a world of Greek gods, heroes, and legends while performing pieces that draw from ancient myths and modern stories like The Lightning Thief, Hercules, and Hadestown.
These camps are geared towards students who want a faster paced "rehearsal & performance" experience. Classes will primarily focus on singing and dancing. Auditions may be held on the first day of camp at the discretion of the Teaching Artists.
