Shakespearean Scenes

Whether you're new to the Bard or a seasoned sonneteer, there's something for everyone to learn in this class focusing on some of Shakespeare’s iconic scenes. Students will become text detectives, mining their lines for Shakespeare's acting clues hidden in plain sight. A wonderful opportunity for students of all experience levels to take a crack at some of the best material ever written for actors. And in this class, everyone plays a starring role!

Conservatory Acting Camp: Puffs
with Hunter Brown

Grades 7 - 12
Background characters deserve to be in the spotlight too! Join the Puffs, students from everyone’s favorite School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, who are ready to take center stage. This fast-paced, two-week acting conservatory will help students finesse skills in scene work and character development.
Please note that, in observance of Juneteenth, this camp will begin on June 21.

Session 1 Tech Camp: Stinky Cheese Man

Grades 5 - 12
What happens backstage is just as important as what happens on stage! Students will get hands-on experience learning about the many elements of technical theatre that help bring a story to life. Working with professional designers and technicians, students will gain exposure to lighting, sound, scenic and prop design. A great choice for teens with an interest in backstage work and fully rounding out their theatrical experience!
Please note that this is a 4-day camp and will begin on June 21 in observance of Juneteenth.
Musical Theatre Conservatory Sr. : Xanadu

Skate on over for a hilariously fun time with our summer Conservatory performance of Xanadu! Our fast-paced musical theatre conservatory focuses on developing the skills and techniques of performance and will culminate in an open presentation of work.
Xanadu follows the journey of a magical Greek muse, Kira, who descends from the heavens of Mount Olympus to Venice Beach, California in 1980. Kira embarks on a quest to inspire a struggling artist, Sonny, to achieve the greatest artistic creation of all time – the first roller disco! But, when Kira falls into forbidden love with the mortal Sonny, her jealous sisters take advantage of the situation, and chaos abounds.

Session 5 Musical Theatre Intensive 7-12: Campy Camp

“Camp” isn’t just a place you go, it’s an artform! Explore the bold styles and high theatrics of “campy” musicals like Hairspray, Little Shop of Horrors, The Rocky Horror Show and more! Be ready for some glitz and glam as we step outside of our comfort zones for a week of over-the-top musical romps.

Tread the boards with the Bard in this class focusing on some of Shakespeare’s iconic scenes. Students will gain comfort with Shakespearean language and performance techniques and have the chance to star as one of the most timeless characters in theatre history. A wonderful opportunity for students of all experience levels to hone classical acting and literature skills!
Session 8 Musical Theatre Intensive 7-12: Rebel without a Cause

Grades 7 - 12
Is “the man” keeping you down? Channel your rebellious streak into creativity in this musical theatre intensive. Using hits like American Idiot, Zombie Prom and Bye Bye Birdie, students will express new points of view while taking performance skills to new heights.
