Winter Break Camp Session #1
with Various Instructors

Grades K-6
School may be out, but theatre is in! Elementary students are welcome to join us for fun-filled days rotating through classes in drama, music, dance and a specialty subject (improv, stage combat, design, etc). Whether your child is used to the spotlight or new to the stage, Junior Theatre’s camps have something for everyone! Friends and family will be invited to an Open Sharing on the final day of camp to see a sampling of what students have learned.
*Camp days are from 9am-3pm. Students must be at least 5 years old and enrolled in a school program to participate. A detailed informational letter will be sent out the week prior to camps. Students should bring a water bottle, a sack lunch and two snacks.
For the safety of all students, we have a closed classroom policy. Adults are not permitted to sit in on JT classes until our invited Open Sharing on the final day of classes or camps.

Barnyard Buddies
with Hannah Bosworth

Grades PreK-K (Ages 4 and 5)*
With a moo-moo here and a cluck-cluck there, join JT for acting class inspired by songs and stories from the farm! Use your newfound performance skills to portray beloved characters from tales like Click Clack Moo, The Little Red Hen and more! Hop into the shoes (or hooves!) of your favorite barnyard pals and share your creativity with friends and family in an Open Sharing on the final day of class!
* Students must be fully potty-trained to participate in camps and classes. For the safety of all students, we have a closed classroom policy. Adults are not permitted to sit in on JT classes until our invited Open Sharing on the final day of classes or camps.
Please note that this class will not meet on 1/15 or 2/19.

A Very Starkid Musical
with Eliza Vedar

Grades 7-12
Dive into the world of musical parody and explore the vast musical catalog of YouTube sensation Starkid Productions! Sing songs from viral hits like A Very Potter Musical, Holy Musical Batman, Firebringer and many more. Further your performance skills in this class focusing on intermediate and advanced vocal techniques. This study of Starkid Productions gives students a glimpse into the new horizons of musical theatre and pushes creativity to new heights.
Please note that this class will not meet on 1/15 or 2/19.

Homeschool: Page to Stage
with Gina Barba

Ages 8-12
Transform a poem into a unique story for the stage! In collaboration with your peers and teaching artist, create a one-of-a-kind play based on the texts of beloved poets like William Shakespeare, Shel Silverstein, Emily Dickinson and others. Learn the basics of script writing and dip your toes in the world of devised theatre. Take on the role of a playwright, director and actor to create a completely original performance to share on the final day of class.

Learn how to think like a director and increase your odds of landing the role! Delve into the creative process by examining and staging your very own piece. Bring your directorial visions to life and sharpen acting skills by performing in peer-directed scenes. Whether you're drawn to the spotlight, the director's chair, or both, this course empowers you to express your creativity and make a lasting impact on the stage.

Grades 4-6
Unleash creativity and quick thinking through improv! From creating hilarious characters to inventing wacky scenarios on the spot, improv empowers performers to think on their feet and hone teamwork and problem-solving skills. Whether you dream of being the next comedy star or simply want to boost your confidence, this class is the perfect platform for young actors to shine!
Stories on Stage: Eric Carle
with Shawn Foote

Grades PreK-K (Ages 4 & 5)*
Join the Very Hungry Caterpillar and friends for an acting journey inspired by the works of Eric Carle! Young actors will explore performance fundamentals and ignite their imaginations to bring these classic tales to life through creative play. Share your new storytelling skills with friends and family on the final day of class!
