Spring Break Camp

Grades K-6
School may be out but theatre is in! Elementary students are welcome to join us for four fun-filled days rotating through classes in drama, music, dance, and a specialty subject. Whether your student is used to the spotlight or new to the stage, our Spring Break camps have something for everyone!Students must be fully potty-trained to participate in camps and classes. For the safety of all students, we have a closed classroom policy. Adults are not permitted to sit in on JT clamps until our invited Open Sharing on the final day of camp. A detailed informational letter will be sent out the week prior to camps. Students should bring a water bottle, closed-toe shoes, sack lunch, and two snacks.
Zoo Crew

PreK-K Students
Take a journey into the animal kingdom without leaving the classroom! From the tallest giraffes to the tiniest monkeys, each class brings a new animal to life through movement, storytelling, and creative play. Using the San Diego Zoo just next door as inspiration, we'll jump, slither, and roar our way through the wild, discovering what makes each creature unique. Whether you're a playful panda, a clever capybara, or the mischievous Moo Deng, you'll use your own animal characters to tell stories and have a wild time along the way!
Please note that this class will not meet on Memorial Day, 5/26.

Clown Town

Grades 4-6
Send in the clowns! In this lively acting class, discover the art of physical theatre and the fundamentals of comedy. Dive into the mechanics of a great “gag” and experiment with what makes something truly funny. Explore a variety of comedic styles while training your mind to think like a clown and your body to express with boldness. Perfect for those with a sense of humor and a willingness to take creative risks, this class encourages playful experimentation. Come dressed to move and ready to laugh—Clown Town awaits!

Immersive Theatre

Grades 7 and 8
Step into stories like never before in this interactive and dynamic acting class! Explore the world of immersive theatre, where the audience becomes part of the action. Build vibrant characters, craft engaging environments, and learn how to guide an audience through a live, one-of-a-kind experience. From mysterious quests to magical worlds, you’ll use your imagination and collaboration skills to create unforgettable theatrical adventures. Invite friends and family to experience the story you’ve built at our open sharing on the final day of class!

Stories on Stage: A Bad Case of Stripes

Step into the colorful world of A Bad Case of Stripes and explore the power of self-expression and embracing what makes each of us unique! Young actors will dive into the story of Camilla Cream, a girl who learns to be herself in the most imaginative way possible. Through playful character work, creative movement, and storytelling, this class brings Camilla’s vibrant adventures to life. This acting adventure celebrates individuality, creativity, and the joy of being unapologetically yourself!

Scene Work Makes the Dream Work Jr.

Explore the world of theatre and stretch your acting skills by working alongside scene partners in this script based course. Discover the magic of teamwork, character development, and storytelling by delving into scenes with your classmates. Learn how to take a script from words on a page to an intriguing story on the stage!
This course is designed for students enrolled in homeschool and charter school programs. We currently serve as vendors for Pacific Coast Academy, Element Education/Dimensions, Springs Charter, LFCS Freedom Academy, and Best Academy. Black Box Theatre: Rehearsal and Performance

Grades 9-12
Whether you’re an experienced actor or have always wanted to get on stage, this skill-building offering is your opportunity to audition, rehearse, and perform in a one-act play! Classes will be spent auditioning, rehearsing, developing characters, and strengthening acting technique. The class will culminate in a shared performance of a short play for friends and family.
Please note: There will be a video audition requirement prior to the start of this class, which will determine casting. Casting decisions are at the sole discretion of the Teaching Artist. The title of the play is TBD contingent upon enrollment numbers. Since class serves as rehearsal time, enrollment in this class is a commitment to regular attendance.
