Come fly a kite with your favorite Peanuts pals as we put on a Mini Musical! Explore a medley of songs and scenes from the beloved show You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Build musical theatre skills while bringing iconic characters like Charlie Brown, Lucy, and Snoopy to life through song and scene work. A great opportunity for young actors to develop confidence and prepare for future productions!

Grades 7-12

Step into a world of Greek gods, heroes, and legends as you explore music from Hadestown, The Lightning Thief, and Hercules. Build vocal technique while performing powerful songs that draw from ancient myths and modern musicals. Join Orpheus, Percy Jackson, and Megara on their epic musical journeys as you discover your own vocal strength and style!

Grades 4-6

Step into the spotlight and join the cast of Camp Rock for a musical adventure! Sing your heart out with iconic songs like "This Is Me" and "We Rock" while bringing characters like Mitchie, Shane, and the camp's colorful ensemble to life. Learn to create dynamic characters, work as an ensemble, and express yourself through song. A great opportunity for young actors to develop confidence and prepare for future productions!

Grades 7-12

Discover the soaring melodies and intricate harmonies of Jason Robert Brown’s iconic works! Build vocal technique and musicality while performing powerful songs from shows like The Last Five Years, Songs for a New World, and 13. Explore the emotional depth and storytelling brilliance that define Brown’s music as you bring his unforgettable characters to life. Develop your own vocal strength and style as you journey through the heartfelt and thrilling worlds of his celebrated musicals!

Grades 7-12

Session 5: July 14-18

"Bit by bit, putting it together!" Dive into the intricate genius of Stephen Sondheim in this cabaret-style musical theatre intensive. Work with a music director to explore the depth, wit, and emotional complexity of Sondheim’s iconic songs– from the haunting beauty of Sweeney Todd to the sharp humor of Into the Woods, the emotional depth of Company, and the artistry of Sunday in the Park with George. Through vocal coaching, ensemble work, and solo performance, bring these legendary songs to life with nuance and storytelling. The week culminates in a cabaret performance, celebrating the brilliance of one of musical theatre’s greatest composers.

This program will take place at Coronado Playhouse, located at 1835 Strand Way. Please drop off and pick up your student at the main theater entrance each day. Hours are 9am-2:45pm with no early drop-off or aftercare options.

JT Studio programs are fast-paced, high-energy intensives designed for teens looking to elevate their performance skills. Tailored for grades 7-12, these programs offer a deep dive into performance and technique,  challenging students to refine their craft in a professional-style rehearsal environment. Classes will primarily focus on singing and acting. Auditions may be held on the first day of camp at the discretion of the Teaching Artist(s). 

***Students should come to camp with a sack lunch and two extra snacks. Please send students in clothes they can move in; no flip flops. For the safety of all students, we have a closed classroom policy. Adults are not permitted to sit in on JT camps until our invited Open Sharing on the final day of camp.***

Grades 4-6

Session 5: July 14-18, 2025

Raise your voice, move with purpose, and take the stage like a true rebel! This musical theatre intensive is all about the power of movement in musicals that celebrate standing up, speaking out, and shaking things up. From Newsies to Hamilton, Les Miserables, and more, dive into choreography that brings bold characters and unforgettable moments to life. Whether leading a revolt, rocking out on stage, or proving the world wrong, this is your chance to perform with passion, power, and a little bit of defiance!

These camps are geared towards students who want a faster paced "rehearsal & performance" experience. Classes will primarily focus on singing and dancing. Auditions may be held on the first day of camp at the discretion of the Teaching Artists. 

***Camps run from 9am-3pm Monday-Friday unless otherwise specified. Students will be grouped by age. Students should come to camp with a sack lunch and two extra snacks. Please send students in clothes they can move in; no flip flops. Aftercare option available for $20/day until 5 PM. For the safety of all students, we have a closed classroom policy. Grades 1-3

Session 6: July 21-25, 2025

Sing, dance, and shine like a star! This musical theatre intensive brings the excitement of pop music to the stage, featuring fun, high-energy songs that are perfect for young performers. From catchy choruses to playful dance moves, explore how pop hits tell stories through music and movement. Whether rocking out to a favorite tune or learning to perform like a real pop star, this camp is all about confidence, creativity, and having a blast on stage!

This camp celebrates the larger-than-life characters who inspire us—from classic superheroes to magical kids like Percy Jackson and Matilda. Step into epic stories, bring heroic moments to life through acting and movement, and unlock the magic of storytelling. Whether saving the day, discovering hidden powers, or standing up for what’s right, every great story needs a hero—and this time, it’s you!
